Over 20 governors and trustees attended the Spring Term BGA meeting held in the Peel Room on Wednesday 6th March.
BGA Chair Richard Ainsworth welcomed everyone and introduced Suzanne Pendleton, one of Bury’s newly appointed Primary Inclusion Officers, who gave a presentation on her role and the partnership work that is now taking place around school inclusion. Suzanne answered a number of excellent questions from governors and her presentation was well received. The accompanying PowerPoint presentation can be accessed on the link below:

Emma Knight, the NGA Chief Executive, opened the conference and talked about the NGA’s lobbying of the government to secure fairer funding for schools. She also announced the launch of two new NGA documents (The right people arond the table – 2nd edition – and Preparing your board for the future). When available the presentations will be made available on this website.
Mark Lockwood, the new Chair of the Bury Governance Development Board, outlined the March training programme available for governors and stated that the Summer Term programme will be released after it had been agreed by the BGD Board on 12th March. He urged attendees to consider joining the BGA Exec – and to call in at the next Exec meeting which is on Thursday 21st March in the Irwell Room at Bury town Hall starting at 7.00pm.
