The Bury Governor Association’s annual conference will take place in the evening of Thursday 21st March 2024 at the Hayloft Suite, in the Stables Complex at the Bolholt Country Hotel on Walshaw Road.

The evening will commence at 6.00pm with a hot buffet and the opportunity to network with fellow governors and trustees. At 6.45pm BGA Chair Richard Ainsworth will introduce the amazing Bury Junior Fire Choir who will inspire the conference with their musical skills. Richard will then introduce Stephen Holden, Bury’s new Interim Director of Education and Skills who will update conference on the current local context and his first 90 days in post. Stephen will be followed by the key note speaker,  London headteacher, author and leadership coach Diana Osagie, who will inspire us with her words.

Diana was the main speaker at the National Governance Associations conference in Manchester last July and is not to be missed. There will then be a panel Q and A session before the evening closes at approximately 8.30pm. The facilities will remain open to allow further networking opportunities.

Conference places are free to governors/trustees whose schools buy into the BGA/BGD traded service. For other schools there will be a charge of £50 per delegate. We will initially limit delegates to two for each governing body but will review this as we assess interest and uptake.
